After a big build-up, Donald Trump has announced the winners of his ‘Fake News’ awards.

Unsurprisingly, CNN – who the President consistently calls out in press conferences – came out on top, winning four out of the 11 ‘prizes’.

The New York Times (NYT), Washington Post and ABC were also called out in the list, which the President used to attack what he claims is “bias” in the media.

The page revealing the winners on gop.com states: “2017 was a year of unrelenting bias, unfair news coverage, and even downright fake news.

“Studies have shown that over 90% of the media’s coverage of President Trump is negative.”

After tweeting out a link to the page, the website reported that it had received more traffic than ever before, causing servers to crash.

Trump highlighted journalists personally as well as the publications they work for, attacking NYT columnist Paul Krugman for saying that the US economy would never recover after the President was elected.

CNN were highlighted for various reports, including one that stated that Trump and his son Donald J Trump Jr had access to WikiLeaks documents during the 2016 election.

However, Trump has faced a backlash for including fake news himself with regards to his attack on the Washington Post for reporting on an empty arena at a sold-out rally in Florida hours before the event started.

Filmmaker Dylan Reeve called out Trump, writing on Twitter that the photo was simply tweeted out by Washington Post reporter Dave Weigel – which he later corrected – and not reported in the publication.

The last entry on the list was the belief that the Trump team colluded with Russia during the presidential campaign.

After the winners were revealed, Trump took to Twitter to praise the “many great reporters” and lots of “good news for the American people to be proud of”.

He added: ”Together there is nothing we can’t overcome – even a very biased media. We ARE Making America Great Again!”

The list was released the day after the President kicked CNN reporter Jim Acosta out of the Oval Office when he tried to ask questions about immigration policy.

Here are the winners of the ‘Fake News’ Awards:

1. The New York Times’ Paul Krugman claiming on the day of Trump’s victory that the economy would never recover.
2. ABC reporter Brian Ross reporting that Trump directed former national Security Adviser Michael Flynn to make contact with Russia during the election.
