Dramatic photos show wrecked Mercedes mounted on wall as police shut main road
These dramatic pictures show a damaged Mercedes car mounted on a wall at the side of a main road after a crash.
The two-car smash happened on Bury New Road in Whitefield at around 8.35pm last night (Friday). Police officers, fire crews and paramedics raced to the scene.
A stretch of the busy road was taped off close to a number of shops and restaurants as emergency crews responded. Photos showed a white Mercedes car left badly damaged within the cordon.

It was left mounted on a wall next to the pavement after the crash. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed this morning that no life-threatening or life-changing injuries were reported.
No further details on the crash have been released by the force at this stage. The road was taped off for a number of hours as investigations were carried out.
In a statement issued last night, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 8.35pm on Friday (June 14) one fire engine from Bury Community Fire station attended a crash involving two cars on Bury New Road, Whitefield.
“Firefighters assisted Greater Manchester Police in making the vehicles and surrounding area safe and were in attendance for around 45 minutes.”
