Detectives said a man who indecently exposed himself to two women on Tunbridge Wells Common could have been captured on the dashcam of passing vehicles. Kent Police has issued an appeal for the public to check their recordings following the incident off Fir Tree Road during which the man also performed a sex act on himself.

Kent Police said it had stepped up police patrols in the area and was appealing for any other information which could help the investigation. As KentLive reported yesterday, women across Tunbridge Wells were worried and angry after one of the women warned them on community site Nextdoor about the predator lurking in the bushes.

The depraved man wearing shorts and a baseball cap had been "lurking" in the bushes on Tunbridge Wells Common at around 5.30pm on Friday. He followed the women while exposed and pleasuring himself then "blatantly" stood and watched them get in their car parked on Fir Tree Road, they said. They had been walking on a path on the common which is near Fir Tree Road and the busy Major Yorks Road.

Detective Sergeant Alan Poulton said: "This happened in an area where people sometimes park their cars before going to work, or to walk dogs on the Common, and we are urging drivers to check dashcams for images around this time. Footage of the suspect could also have been captured in surrounding roads, including Hungershall Park, Nevill Park and Mount Ephraim."

The suspect is white, aged in his 30s and was believed to be wearing blue shorts, a dark baseball cap and a t-shirt which may have been burgundy in colour.

In the woman's post on Nextdoor, she had brought up the incidents of indecent exposure shared in May by Kent Police. The force had released images of a man in shorts and a dark baseball cap following three offences which happened between April 12 and 30, on the common but in Rusthall.

This was also in wooded areas, close to Rusthall cricket pitch and Coach Road. This man had been wearing a grey sports top, black socks and white running shoes, black shorts and a black knee support. He had a beard.

Kent Police said it was not ruling out the possibility the latest incident and the Rusthall incidents may be linked.
