Drivers warned of closures ahead of Almondsbury Interchange repair work

Drivers using the Almondsbury Interchange have been warned of delays as repair work takes place next month. Full road closures will be in place from Friday, July 5 until Monday, July 8, and from Friday, July 12 until Monday, July 15.

National Highways said that recent inspections have identified deterioration of the approaches and departures to the link road bridge decks between the M4 eastbound to the M5 southbound, and M4 westbound to the M5 northbound. While the M5 and the M4 will remain open as usual during the weekend closures, motorists should expect traffic delays.

A 40mph speed limit has been put in place for drivers to continue using the link roads. Here are the road closure details:

  • M4 eastbound to M5 southbound closed for repair work from 8pm on Friday, July 5 until 6am on Monday, July 8.

  • M4 westbound to M5 northbound closed for repair work from 8pm on Friday, July 12 until 6am on Monday, July 15.
