Horses, supercars and even a truck! Students arrive in style for prom
Pupils at one Accrington school arrived at their prom in real style.
Two pupils could be seen making their way on horseback, whilst others pulled up in £200,000 luxury cars at St Christopher’s School Prom at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel.
As well as a McLaren, Rolls Royce and Range Rovers, some parents chose to drop their children off in vintage vehicles.
One of the biggest highlights was a Volvo truck and a car with the number plate 'Bi6 Ego'
The prom took place earlier this week and coincided with one of the hottest days of the year.
Among those attending the high school prom were Oliver and Jasmine.
Dad Chris said he got hold of a black Rolls Royce and got the chance to drive it himself.
He told us: “It was wonderful to be able to drive the couple to the venue.
“We went for a drive in the countryside and with the weather being so good we were able to have the top down.
“It was a lovely day for all the pupils.”
Chris, who works for Cover My Bubble, a local insurance company which offers life insurance for families, said earlier he had also taken Oliver’s grandad, 78, for a drive.
“It was great to be able to do this on a glorious day. The vehicle is very smooth and amazing to drive.”
Aroon, of SVS One Stop Vehicle Solutions, who got hold of the black Rolls Royce for the family, said: “It is certainly one of the busiest times of the year.
“We have got vehicles booked out across the county. People are going for the prestige high-end vehicles as they always do.
"In this case we were able to arrange a 24 hour so the parent could drive the car themselves.”
