Bex Fowler’s exit storyline is revealed in EastEnders next week as the troubled teen decides to head off travelling.

Bex – who’s played by departing star Jasmine Armfield in the BBC soap – tells Kat Slater about her travelling plans and she’s encouraged by Kat’s reaction.

She then heads off to break the news to Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) and Martin (James Bye) but is left feeling crestfallen when her parents aren’t exactly pleased with her decision.

But despite her mum and dad’s concerns, Bex remains determined to head off and explore the world.

She’s thrown later in the week though when, as she prepares to jet off on her travels, she finds her passport is missing and, suspicious, wonders if all is as it seems.

Bex confronts Sonia about hiding her passport and a desperate Sonia insists that Bex is making the wrong decision.

Martin steps in and tries to make Sonia see sense and, when he fails, Sonia’s uncles Jack and Max Branning tell her off for her stubbornness, warning her she could lose her daughter completely.

Finally, Sonia comes around when Bex pens her a heartfelt letter.

It was announced earlier this year that Jasmine would be leaving EastEnders after five years as troubled teenager Bex.

Since Bex first arrived in Walford she’s been involved in some high profile storylines including bullying, teen sex, revenge porn and losing her former boyfriend, Shakil Kazemi, to knife crime.

More recently Bex attempted to take her own life in a shocking storyline which saw the character crumble under exam pressure.

She also almost lost her life on the ill-fated Thames boat party last week after necking contaminated drugs supplied to her by dodgy Dotty Cotton.

It’s no wonder Bex is keen to put Walford behind her and head off to pastures new.

Jasmine said of her departure: “I’ve had such a fantastic time playing Bex Fowler and loved being part of EastEnders but now feels like the right time to try something new.”

Executive producer, Jon Sen, added: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Jasmine. She’s brought something incredibly special to the role of Bex and we will all miss her - both as a friend and colleague. We wish her the best of luck for the future.”

EastEnders continues on BBC One tonight at 7.30pm,
