There are reports of Dunbar train station also flooded which may affect those commuting for work on Thursday if flooding is severe.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) issued a flood warning for Edinburgh and the Lothians as the Met Office has forecast heavy rain for the area with its yellow weather warning, and warn that 'urban areas and the transport network' are at high risk.

SEPA warned that persistent rainfall could lead to flooding from surface water and rivers. Isolated properties are also at risk of flood damage.

The agency writes on its website: "A period of heavy and persistent rain from Wednesday evening until Thursday evening could cause flooding impacts from surface water and rivers. Particularly at risk are urban areas and the transport network. Impacts may include flooding to low-lying land and roads, with difficult driving conditions. Isolated properties may also be at risk."

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued the warning for the area as the Met Office forecast heavy rain to continue throughout Wednesday and into Thursday.

The yellow warning was issued as the Met Office forecast heavy and persistent rain to continue throughout Wednesday and into Thursday. The majority of Scotland has the warning put in place until Thursday evening, when the rain should subside slightly with light rain to continue into Friday.

The Met Office has 'what to expect in severe weather' warnings. They write on their website that there is a 'slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services' and a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage.

Public transport could be delayed or chance of cancellations and spray and flooding can lead to difficulty driving and some road closures.

In cases of flooding, stay safe by not driving unless you have too, make sure your phone is charged, check on your neighbours, especially vulnerable ones. And if there is a risk of flooding to your home, turn off gas and electricity supplies.
