However, Ravi spots the pair’s hasty departure and tails them to their destination – only to find Nugget’s mother Priya entering the flat where he’s been hiding. In a state of shock after seeing Priya, Ravi drags Nugget back to Walford. But it isn’t long before Priya arrives in the neighbourhod looking for Nugget, who the police are now questioning regarding his reasons for leaving.
And she isn’t the only one to turn up in the Square – cue the debut of Avani, the daughter who Ravi never knew existed…
Will Sharon really move away?
Monday’s episode finds Keanu organising a romantic date for Sharon at the not-so-romantic venue of the Arches.
But the move is enough to leave Sharon struggling with her decision to leave the Square behind for a new life in Abu Dhabi. Will she really say goodbye to Walford?
Rocky is keeping secrets
Kathy tells Rocky it’s time they found their own place, but he needs to make some money fast and hatches a plan to sell more cars in the hope that the extra commission will boost their finances.
Rocky’s secret hope is that he and Kathy will be able to move back to No 45, but when a lunch with Ian, Cindy and Peter descends into a chaos, that plan is halted. Kathy and Rocky then go house-hunting and put in an offer on a studio flat – despite not having the funds for the deposit due to Rocky’s gambling.
Yet by Thursday, their future has changed again after Reiss’s crestfallen response to the news that they’re moving out leaves Kathy and Rocky deciding to stay put.
Ben’s ultimatum to Jay following shock arrest
When Ben learns of Jay’s recent arrest, he can’t help but be annoyed. But Jay hastily covers and insists it was merely the possession of weed that landed him in a cell.
But Jay’s struggles are set to continue, and he’ll be seen on Tuesday asking Gina if she can put him in touch with a drug dealer. However, she refuses and instead invites Ben over to the Albert to discuss her concerns about Jay.
Later in the week, Jay gets drunk and has a heartfelt conversation with Honey about grief. But Ben remains unimpressed by Jay’s actions and issues him with an ultimatum: either he stops the drugs or Ben will kick him out. Jay then promises to do better, but things go from bad to worse when Nadine shows up…
Kathy reconciles with Ian
During a heart to heart in the café, Kathy reveals to Sharon that she’s missing Ian. So, Sharon hatches a plan to invite Ian to the café for wine, so that she can act as a mediator between mother and son.
Thankfully, it doesn’t take long for Kathy and Ian to resolve their issues and admit their love for each other. But after drunkenly heading back to No 45, Kathy ends up exchanging some tense words with Cindy.
Ian’s plans could be scuppered
Away from the family dynamics, Ian is also facing business-related drama. On Thursday, he receives a shocking phone call – there’s a competitor for the lease on the pawnbrokers, which means his business plan could be stymied.
Heading to the Vic, Ian then tries to play the sympathy card, but his efforts come to nothing as Elaine rumbles his agenda, while George reveals that he and Cindy are not entitled to any cash from the Marbella bar sale.
EastEnders airs on BBC One Monday to Thursdays, and streams on iPlayer.
