A car was spotted driving up a dual carriageway on the wrong side of the road.

An image shared online shows a white car driving on the wrong side of the duel carriageway near the Forth Road Bridge.

While the road appears not to be busy, other drivers were left shocked by the scene.

One local suggested that the driver may have been confused and travelled down the onward slip to the Forth Road Bridge rather than the Queensferry Crossing.

One said: "Standard day at the Forth Road Bridge."

A second wrote: "Lunacy at its best."

"How on earth have they managed that?" Another asked.
