Eminem hits back at fans who complained at 'gun shot noises' during Las Vegas gig
Rapper Eminem has hit back at the fans that complained at gun shot noises during his Las Vegas gig.
Eminem, real name Marshal Mathers, 45, came under criticism from some section of his fanbase when he performed during his Bonnaroo set earlier this month, between 7-10 June.
Fans weren’t happy when the 8 Mile star appeared to include the sound of gun shots during his performance. Some deemed it lacking in taste, considering the mass shooting that took place in Vegas just 8 months earlier when 58 people were slain by a gunman during the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
Angry fans expressed their displeasure on Twitter, as they criticised the singer with his sound effect choices.
‘Honestly, f*ck Eminem. Added gunshots to his set. Had to leave. So disgusting and distasteful. Shame on you,’ one person wrote.
Less than a year after Vegas and @Eminem thinks it’s a good idea to blast gun shot sfx onstage at a music festival? Bad call on this headliner @bonnaroo. What happened to Radiate Positivity?

Has @Eminem apologized for blaring gun shots on loud speakers to scare thousands of people? No? Shocker.

Another shared a video of people appearing shocked when they heard what was apparently a gun shot but was actually pyrotechnics. (Warning: strong language in below video.)

His response? To advise fans not to attend if they’re sensitive.
The artist posted a rebuttal prior to his concert which people shared on social media.

The notice tells fans they ‘shouldn’t be here’ if they’re ‘frightened by loud noises or offended by explicit lyrics’.
It’s perhaps easy to read the sign as a swipe as overly sensitive fans but could also be seen as a public notice issuing a warning. Either way, it has offended and upset people considering the levels of gun violence and mass shootings in America.
