Emmerdale fans have voiced their disapproval after ITV soap bosses issued an update this weekend.

Viewers will know that Belle King has been suffering at the hands of her new husband Tom. A jealous Tom has even gone as far as to target Belle's friend, Vinny Dingle, leaving him covered in bruises after a violent attack.

Vinny was knocked unconscious, and unable to identify his attacker once he woke up in the hospital.

Emmerdale bosses have now shared what will happen next in the soap, with stills from this week's episodes posted on the show's official Instagram page. Text over the photos reads: "Tom tries to find Vinny a new girlfriend.

"Manpreet flirts with Billy in her private session. Will comes face to face with Rose." The update has also been captioned: "Tom abuses his power over Vinny. Also: Manpreet flirts with Billy and Will keeps a secret from Kim."

Fans have been quick to react to the update in the comments section, as Cal said: "Why is Vinny always getting bullied? Stop it right now". Ilona said: "Don't you dare put Vinny through any more hurt" and Robert said: "Love to see Cain and Jimmy drag Tom out of the Woolpack".

Samantha said: "You must protect Vinny at all costs".
