Emmerdale fans say 'mark my words' work out Belle twist after spotting her 'asking for help'

Emmerdale fans think they have worked out how Belle King's abuse storyline will end after claiming to have spotted the moment she 'asked for help'. Viewers have been struggling to watch as the much-loved character is coercively controlled by her new husband, Tom.

Tom's behaviour has progressively got worse following the first concerning scenes in October when he popped the question to Belle and didn't take her turning him down very well, assuming it meant she didn't love him, and a brief move left her bleeding on the floor.

While they have since tied the knot, Tom's horrid behaviour has worsened with the vet putting a tracker on his wife's phone, forcing them into owning a dog and setting up a 'pup cam' in their home and even secretly causing problems for her in her new job at Take A Vow.

But in recent scenes, a mistake at the vets left his competence being questioned by Paddy Kirk and Vanessa Woodfield, Tom decided to invite them and their partners around for a dinner party along with Rhona Goskirk and Marlon Dingle.

The first half of the special episode focused on the perspectives of Rhona and Marlon whose relationship has been tested in recent months over the arrival of Rhoan's ex, Gus, with their biological daughter, Ivy, after he used their frozen embryos to have a baby with he new wife.

Meanwhile, the second part of the episode showed the start of the dinner party as it captured the events from Belle and Tom’s point of view. It offered a glimpse into Tom’s controlling behaviour as while Marlon and Rhona partook in a public slanging match, Tom's abuse of Belle was very much bubbling under the surface.

In harrowing scenes, when the dinner party ended following Marlon and Rhona's argument, Belle and Tom were left alone and he confronted her about her taking contraception as he wanted them to start a family. After shouting at her for lying to him, he pushed her homemade cake onto the floor and cornering her, he pushed her hand under a boiling hot tap in his first physical turn of violence.

During Wednesday night's (May 8) Emmerdale, viewers saw the morning after the night before. Belle was seen clutching her burnt hand with Tom coming downstairs to question why his wife hadn't come to bed and comments to suggest the incident was her fault.

After a conversation in the Woolpack, Belle later ended up apologising to Tom for what had happened and they toasted to their future together. But some Emmerdale fans think her subtle comments were a plea for help.

One said: "Belle literally asked for help in the pub when she said 'it shouldn't have happened'." Another replied: "I noticed that too." A third added: "Suzi, completely oblivious!!!- I hate it when you are talking and someone else goes, ooh sorry so so has tx I’ve just got to… and walk off !!!- she was about to offload bless her."

Meanwhile, others think they've figured out what will happen between the couple. One said: "I think Belle is going to be the one to deal with Tom, I can see her cracking and doing him in." Another added: "Belle is going to snap and see to Tom mark my words."
