'Emmerdale': Murderous Meena finally charged by the police
Emmerdale serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) was finally charged by the police in Tuesday’s episode, after her box of sick trophies was found by Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
Following an explosive week of revenge that ultimately led to her incarceration, Meena sat feeling smugly confident in her cell after claiming that she killed Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) in self-defence.
She also bragged that there was nothing to link her to the other killings. But thanks to the evidence unearthed at the allotment, everything changed.
DS Rogers (Matthew Flynn) presented the latest findings to Meena, who declared ‘no comment’ and laughed in his face.

But when forensics found her fingerprints on Ben and Andrea’s (Anna Nightingale) bracelets, as well as Leanna’s (Mimi Slinger) ring, she changed tack and claimed she simply liked to steal things.
“Andrea’s daughter made her that bracelet. According to Charles Anderson, she never took it off,” said Rogers, who knew full well that Meena had taken each item from the corpses of those she murdered.
To Meena’s surprise, he was one step ahead of her at every turn, including when it came to the suspicious death of her former friend Nadine Butler.

Back in the village, Liam admitted to Leyla that he pushed Meena off the bridge, while Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) tried to move on from her sister’s horrific actions.
Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) struggled with grief for Leanna, and asked Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) to spend the night with him. Also, David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) comforted a distressed Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) after finding out about Meena’s attempt to drown her last year.

As the residents continued to deal with her impact on their lives, over at the police station Meena sat in silence as DS Rogers coolly read out her charges for every single offence. In a chilling scene, all eyes were on Meena as she realised her fun and games were over.
But that wasn’t the last we saw of her. As the episode drew to a close, Charles (Kevin Mathurin) received a call from Meena. She feigned vulnerability, begging him to help her find forgiveness for her sins.

Actor Sandhu previously explained that Meena “doesn’t feel guilty about doing anything”. So it’s highly unlikely that she is truly seeking redemption. She also has yet to admit to what she has done - but do we really expect her to?
