Exclusive: Hollyoaks casts Darren Osborne's twins for huge story

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks bosses have revealed the casting details for Darren Osborne's twins Frankie and Jack Junior.

Digital Spy can exclusively reveal that Isabelle Smith and Ryan Mulvey have been cast as the two characters, who'll be returning to the village early next year.

Isabelle and Ryan have already started filming for the Channel 4 soap, working alongside Ashley Taylor Dawson who plays Darren.

They've also been sharing scenes with Jessica Fox, who recently returned to the Hollyoaks set to reprise her role as Nancy Osborne after completing her maternity leave.

Frankie and JJ previously appeared on Hollyoaks as babies in 2011. Their mum Suzanne Ashworth gave birth in Hollyoaks' milestone 3,000th episode in January 2011.

They appeared in the show until March that year, when Suzanne moved back to Spain and took the twins with her. Digital Spy understands that the characters have now been aged up for storyline reasons, so will be older than established in previous continuity.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Suzanne Hall and Emma Rigby would be returning to Hollyoaks as mother and daughter Suzanne and Hannah Ashworth.

Fans can look forward to seeing Frankie and JJ in January 2024.

Speaking for the first time about landing the role, Isabelle told Digital Spy: "I'm so excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks, it still hasn't sunk in!

"You should expect a lot of ups and downs with Frankie but all I'll say is, don't judge her too soon…"

Ryan added: "I'm buzzing to join the cast of the Osborne family. JJ is charismatic, sporty and a proper mummy's boy who knows exactly how to get what he wants."

Talking about reprising her role, Suzanne Hall commented: "I'm super excited to be returning as Suzanne and working with Ashley and Emma and of course the twins Izzy and Ryan. In true Hollyoaks style there is so much happening, lots of twists and turns and as always a huge storyline to come."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
