Fancy A Dip? These Luxury Flats Will Be Linked At 115ft By A Suspended Swimming Pool

Swimmers will need a real head for heights when going for a dip in this suspended pool.

The breathtaking water feature will link two luxury London apartment blocks - and seemingly float 115-foot high in the sky.

The concept behind the astonishing 25-metre-long “Sky Pool” - as it’s been dubbed - was unveiled this week.

It will connect two towers on the prestigious Nine Elms development which is being built on the south bank of the River Thames.

With an entirely transparent 8-inch thick glass shell, it will be 5-metres wide and 3-metres deep.

Only residents will be allowed to use the pool, however.

It means that only those able to cough up £602,000 for one of the emerging area’s smallest apartments will get to experience the thrill of swimming over a street.

The pool at Embassy Gardens, which is the 2,000-home complex being built alongside the new American Embassy on the riverside district around Battersea Power Station, is being hailed as “a world first.”

“We set out to create places and spaces that are more than just bricks and mortar,” said Sean Mulryan, chairman and founder of developer Ballymore.

“The pool is testimony to this philosophy and gives the development a unique character,” he added to Homes & Property.
