Faryal Makhdoom's desperate bid to save Amir Khan marriage: 'My unborn child doesn't deserve a broken home'

Faryal Makhdoom has penned a public apology to her estranged husband Amir Khan in a desperate bid to save her marriage to the boxing champ.

Amir announced that he and Faryal were splitting last month as the pair became embroiled in an incredibly public spat, which saw the star accuse his wife of having an affair with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.

Amir later clarified that this wasn’t true, although he insisted that he and Faryal were still split as their marriage had become “unhealthy”.

Shortly afterwards, Faryal announced that she is pregnant with her and Amir’s second child, the pair already mum and dad to three-year-old daughter Lamaisah, with the 26-year-old beauty reportedly vowing to raise the baby alone.

However, she has seemingly had a change of heart, posting a lengthy statement on Twitter last night insisting that she wants to start “afresh” with Amir to stop her children from growing up in a “broken home”.

Writing to her 180,000 Twitter followers, Faryal shared: “I would like to send a special message to all my supporters: Thank you for being there for me during my darkest hours.

“Your love and support helped me immensely and I feel so humbled with your prayers.

“As you know, the past three months have been really tough on me and my marriage.

“Matters haven’t been helped by the fact that my husband has been out of the ring for quite some time… It’s been very stressful for us as a couple, and a family.”

Faryal went on to acknowledge that her public rift with Amir’s parents was also detrimental to her marriage, adding: “I now recognise that all this infighting between me and my in laws has had a terrible effect on my husband and I… And for that I would like to sincerely apologise.

“My mother and father in law are the elders of our family and as such deserve love and respect just as much as my own parents do.

“I’ve said things in the past out of anger… I didn’t really mean and regret now.

“Going forth, this will also be a priority for me.”

Faryal concluded with: “My daughter and unborn child do not deserve a broken home.

“That is why I have decided that it is time to put our differences behind us, and start afresh.

“All families go through hard times. It is unfortunate for us that our difficulties were played out so publicly. I also apologise for my part in that

“We all make mistakes; we are only human after all.”

Amir has not publicly commented or acknowledged Faryal’s statement and Yahoo Celeb UK have contacted his reps for clarification on whether he and Faryal are back together.

It was reported shortly after he split from Faryal that Amir had been trying to leave his wife for two years but she “threatened to destroy his reputation” if he dumped her.

It then emerged that Amir had slept with beauty therapist Emily Volkova just days after announcing his divorce, reportedly going on to brand Emily a “daft white sl*t” and “dirt bag” in scathing Whatsapp messages.

Emil, 21, said at the time: “He was just after one thing. Maybe I got carried away when he said I was the kind of girl he would like to take home with him.

“But the abuse he gave me when he made it clear the one night we spent together was all it was showed him up for the horrible piece of work he is.

“Calling me a ‘daft white sl*t’ and ‘dirt bag’ was really uncalled for. I would never have spoken about him if he hadn’t turned that nasty.”
