A fashion lover has shared a genius tip that will stop the bottom of your jeans from hitting the floor and getting covered in dirt and wet from puddles.

Fashion trends are ever changing but one current popular item of clothing right now is baggy trousers. Once a common choice in the 1990s, baggy cargos and jeans are now back in style as fewer people opt for the super skinny option.

One thing about loose-fitting jeans is that not only are they wider, they also tend to be longer in length as well. This can be a problem for those who are shorter in stature, and often results in the hem dragging on the ground.

But if you are looking for a way to stay on the best fashion trends and still keep your clothes protected from the dirty, wet ground then one fashionista on TikTok has the simplest hack.

The woman, who goes by @michelleharrison21 on TikTok, shared a "little hack for when your jeans are too baggy/long".

In the 22-second video, the Irish TikTokker showed her jeans dragging on the ground and began the construction of this simple hack.

She advised people to fold the bottom fabric in and under on itself at your heel. She then turned them up, and warned viewers "don't use a lot of fabric".

She then safety-pinned this fold of fabric and then let the jean sit normally - with a little turn up at the back that won't drag on the ground and get dirty. The TikTokker added: "And voila...no more standing on your long jeans" alongside a winking emoji.

This video has been viewed a whopping 755,000 times in just under a week with nearly 56,000 likes and 25,000 saves on the TikTok platform.

Viewers headed to the comments section to thank the woman for her expertise as others added in their own tips and tricks.

One person wrote: "Me seeing this now after walking all day in the rain with drenched pants heels because they were too long."

Another said: "I shall now be buying safety pins in bulk and doing this to every pair of jeans that I own."

A third added: "Omg this is legit the best hack I’ve ever seen on here! #shortgirlproblems."

And a fourth commented: "Omg thank you!"
