Experiencing turbulence on a flight can be scary, but there's one thing you can do to make it easier to manage.

Even though it's normally nothing to worry about, turbulence can make all of us feel uneasy – whether you're a frequent flier or you can't stand the thought of getting on a plane. It can impact any flight and is very common, occurring when a plane hits a strong wind current, which can end up pushing or pulling the vessel.

If you're planning to jet off on your summer holidays in the coming weeks and are concerned about the prospect of a shaky journey, one flight attendant has shared an easy way to ease your discomfort.

In a video posted to TikTok, flight attendant Miva told her followers that if you're particularly worried about turbulence, there's only one thing you need to do to make sure you "feel it the least" when you're actually on your flight.

All you need to do is book a seat toward the front of the plane. Miva explained: "If there is any turbulence, you will feel it the least at the front."

The cabin crew member encouraged those who dread flying to speak up about their anxieties to plane staff, assuring viewers flight attendants would be sure to "check on you" throughout the journey. It's equally important to keep yourself distracted with hobbies such as listening to music or audiobooks, watching an in-flight movie or making a start on your holiday reading.

The post saw a shower of gratitude from TikTok users who found her advice insightful. One individual revealed they were once suggested to sit on the wing area to avoid turbulence but after their experience, they couldn't agree more with Miva: "I felt turbulence on the wing. Definitely, the front of the plane is better."

Responses such as "Thank you so much for this! I've always wondered where the best place to sit on a plane was," and another comment saying: "Thank you. Flying this evening and trying to stay positive" flooded the comments section.
