Forget the chocolate, a CHEESE advent calendar is being made for Christmas 2017

Obviously the best thing about December is being able to crack open the advent calendars, guaranteeing you chocolate every single day up to Christmas.

However, sometimes you just crave a bit of cheese instead, right?

Well, if that’s you, then December 2017 is going to be a real treat because someone is going to make an advent calendar stuffed full of different cheeses.

So Wrong It’s Nom blogger Annem Hobson hit upon the idea last November when she failed to get excited by the endless chocolate calendars available.

She said: “Then it struck us! Cheese would make things better!

“But none existed so we made our own for a laugh. The response from people was overwhelming and we realised then that there’s a demand.

“I’ve been speaking to manufacturers and I believe we can make this cheesy dream come true.”

After setting up the #CheeseNotChoc campaign, Annem realised there was enough support out there for a cheesy calendar, and they will now be available at the end of next year.

She added to Metro: “The type of cheese used needs to be ‘boxable’ in miniature form and needs to stay fresh for as long as possible.”

You can expect such cheesy treats as Vintage Gouda, St. Helen’s Farm Goats’ Cheese, Blue Stilton, German Smoked Cheese and French Doux De Montagne behind the doors.
