Four police officers injured and 19 arrests made during Celtic title celebrations in city

Police Scotland have confirmed that 19 people were arrested and four officers were injured as 25,000 Celtic fans flocked to Glasgow city centre to celebrate their third title win in a row yesterday (May 18).

The huge group gathered in the Trongate area after Brendan Rodger's side beat St Mirren 3-2. Whilst a majority were celebrating respectfully shocking footage circulated online of one man being knocked out with a single punch.

Piles of litter, empty alcohol cans and broken glass were pictured covering Glasgow Cross after the party had come to an end.

Police Scotland confirmed that 19 arrests were made throughout the day for various offences and enquiries remain ongoing into a number of incidents.

Four officers required medical treatment after suffering injuries during disorder.

Superintendent John Menzies said: "I would like to thank our partner agencies and the wider public for their support.

"Unfortunately, we experienced some disorder including the use of pyrotechnics and alcohol-related offences. We took robust action to prevent these escalating.
