General election candidate takes campaign to streets with personalised trailer

AN INDEPENDENT election candidate is taking his campaign to the streets of Inverclyde as polling day looms.

Voters may spot John Burleigh’s personalised trailer around the area in the coming days, accompanied by Abba’s ‘Take A Chance On Me’ – his campaign slogan.

Mr Burleigh is one of eight candidates standing in the Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West seat at Thursday's election.

He said: “I’m the rank outsider in this election and I’m giving it everything.

“Everybody is tooting me and I’m feel like I’m getting the backing.”
