Glasgow road shut as fire crews rush to Ibrox property blaze

A Glasgow road has been shut by police today (Wednesday, July 3) as fire crews rushed to a property blaze.

Emergency services are still on the scene at Brand Street in the Ibrox area of the city after an inferno took hold of a flat block. Images snapped from the area show five fire appliances parked nearby.

The apartment impacted by the fire seems to be situated on the first floor of the building.

A closer view of the flat shows that the windows have been blown out and a stream of black smoke appearing from the property.

It is believed that all residents were evacuated from the flat block safely. It is not yet known what time the blaze started in the apartment.

Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
