Gorka Marquez says 'we're excited' as he announces career move

BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez has excitedly announced to fans that 'the wait is over' as he reveals his next big venture. This follows last week's announcement involving his fiancee, Gemma Atkinson. However, this time, his dance partner Karen Hauer is included in the news.

Both Gorka and Karen are well-known for their appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, but they also partner up outside of the BBC's ballroom. Fans have been eagerly asking if they'll be returning to the stage together after a hiatus from their Firedance shows this year, following two consecutive years of touring.

Gorka had previously hinted at some upcoming news, and on Monday (April 22), the 33 year old took to social media to spill the beans. In an Instagram video, Gorka and Karen appeared fresh out of a speakeasy, confirming their aptly named Speakeasy tour.

Alongside the post, Gorka wrote: "And the wait it's over! We're excited to announce our Brand New Show. 'SPEAKEASY' touring the UK in 2025. We can't wait to see you all there! @karenhauer @speakeasytheshow.", reports the Manchester Evening News.

Strictly co-star Katya Jones was quick to respond, writing: "Looooove this," while Johannes Radebe and Luba Mushtuk expressed their excitement with flame emojis in the comments section. Dianne Buswell shared red love hearts and commented: "Beautiful."

Presenter and Strictly 2023 participant, Angela Scanlon, shared her excitement by stating: "Looks SO DAMN GOOD."

EastEnders actress Jacquelina Jossa expressed awe with: "Wowwwwwee." The fans and followers of the dancer weren't left behind in responding either.

User @samanthaford9648 enthused: "Yes. So excited for this @karenhauer @gorka_marquez." User @nyealison declared: "This is the best news ever."

Another follower, @scottyjotty posted: "This looks fantastic! So glad you are coming back to Glasgow again." while @shaz66johnston2019 appreciated: "This looks amazing."

In a related update, Gemma, who met Gorka on Strictly 2017, falling in love and subsequently getting engaged and having two children, echoed the same announcement video on her Instagram page. She rallied her 1.9 million followers with The dream team is back!"

She went on to add "'SpeakEasy' 2025! Tickets available now @speakeasytheshow. Gorks and Karen have the best show planned!"
