Hearts are believed to be closing in on former Hamilton Accies keeper Ryan Fulton as they bolster their squad ahead of next season.

The 28-year-old, who is leaving Accies at the end of his contract, is expected to replace former Hamilton hero Michael McGovern, who has been released by the Edinburgh giants.

Fulton, who will sign a two-year deal according to reports, would provide goalkeeper cover for the first team, while Harry Stone and Liam McFarlane develop below that.

McGovern, 39, spent part of last season on loan at Livingston and played only five times for them in the whole of last season.

Former Liverpool kid Fulton joined Hamilton in 2017 and made more than 100 appearances for them, while also representing Scotland at under-16, 19 and 21 level.

Hearts have already snapped up Livingston left-back James Penrice, Ross County midfielder Yan Dhanda and Blair Spittal from Motherwell.
