Speaking on This Morning with co-host Phillip Schofield, and Dancing on Ice backstage presenter Kem Cetinay, Willoughby berated Collins’ lateness and lack of ‘professionalism.’
“I really love Gemma [Collins], I’m a big fan of Gemma’s and I think she’s great on the show. But, I think there needs to be a little bit of professionalism that comes into any work you do. Just a little pride in your work. You just shouldn’t do that,” Willoughby said on This Morning.
Collins had reportedly arrived late at group rehearsals for Sunday’s episode, and instead of apologising said to her fellow contestants: ‘I’m the GC, remember?’
And she later copped to her tardiness when she admitted to the cameras: “I was late but I showed up. I’m bringing out my inner diva for this number.”
Cetinay said that while speaking to Collins backstage she said she was late because she was ‘taking a nap.’ He also said that she mysteriously left the episode during its final quarter because she was bored.
“She was a bit bored but she does love skating,” he said.
He continued to giggle over Collins antics and said he thinks her ‘GC’ persona has gone to the 37-year-old TOWIE star’s head.
“She says it’s not Gemma Collins, that’s the GC!” he said.
An exasperated Willoughby appeared to stop herself from saying ‘that’s b******s’ and instead slammed Collins’ behaviour as ‘rubbish’ and ‘naughty.’
“That’s absolute rubbish. That’s just a really good excuse to get out of stuff you don’t want to do. I love that side of her but I think professionalism will always outweigh that diva behaviour. Naughty Gemma,” she said.
“In all my years of television I have never kept a studio waiting,” agreed Schofield.
Collins has vowed to stay the course of the series, after famously quitting fellow ITV reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! after just three days in the jungle.
The TOWIE reality star remains in the competition and the ice skating show said goodbye to its first competitor on Sunday night – former Neighbours star Mark Little.
