Hot Rod Confirmed For Transformers 5

It’s official – Hot Rod is in ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’.

Another glimpse of ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ has appeared on the film’s official Twitter feed… this time, confirming the appearance of the stylish and rather cool-looking Hot Rod.

As you can see, Hot Rod’s chassis is made up of a metallic grey frame with some of the larger, more automobile-styled portions featured in a glossy black coat. Add in those red highlights and Hot Rod is looking pretty snazzy.

And his brief bio gives us a glimpse of what we can expect.

Hot Rod is described as Bumblebee’s brother-in-arms… and his personality is broken down as “Brash, Slightly Arrogant, Protector’.

But what does this mean for ‘Transformers 5’?

‘Transformers’ fans will probably be familiar with Hot Rod – after all, the brash, headstrong young Autobot eventually took over as Rodimus Prime after the death of Optimus Prime. His first major accomplishment? The defeat of ‘Transformers’ baddie, Unicron.

But does this mean Unicron could make an appearance, too?

That’s one theory that’s been going around for some time… and Hot Rod’s presence might just give us a hint that Unicron is on his way. But for now, that’s just a theory. Either way, it looks as though Hot Rod is here. And he looks pretty awesome.

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ stars Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson. Peter Cullen returns to voice Optimus Prime, with Frank Walker as Megatron.

This will reportedly be Michael Bay’s final ‘Transformers’ movie, and is based on a screenplay by Matt Holloway, Art Marcum and Ken Nolan.

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ heads to cinemas on 23 June 2017.
