Huge fire erupts near Kilmarnock shops as fire crews tackle blaze

The fire has broken out behind the shops on Cameron Drive -Credit:James Wiseman

A huge fire has erupted near Kilmarnock shops this evening.

The blaze is understood to have taken hold at what appears to be a caravan at the rear of the Keystore in New Farm Loch.

Fire crews are currently battling flames near the shop units on Cameron Drive, just off Grassyards Road.

Firefighters can be seen trying to dampen the flames as huge plumes of smoke pour from the remains of the caravan.
