The candidates standing in Hull in this year's local elections and police and crime commissioner (PCC) poll have been announced.
A total of 75 candidates are vying for seats in the 19 of Hull City Council's 21 wards up for election this year. The Liberal Democrats, Labour and Conservatives are all fielding candidates in every ward up for election, with no polls taking place in Central or Pickering wards this year.
Candidates are also standing for the Greens, Reform UK, the Trade Union and Socialist Coalition (TUSC), the Yorkshire Party and as independents in some Hull wards. It comes as voters are set to head to the polls on Thursday, May 2 for local elections to decide control of The Guildhall and also to cast ballots for the Humberside police and crime commissioner.

This year's election will see the Liberal Democrats try to retain or build on their control of the council as they go to into the vote with 33 out the 57 seats on The Guildhall. Labour will be looking to improve on its current 24 seat total and will fight to try and take back control of the council after losing it in 2022.
The ruling Liberal Democrats and the Labour opposition are currently the only two parties represented in The Guildhall. The PCC elections are set to see Conservative incumbent Jonathan Evison stand for re-election against Labour's Simon O'Rouke and Liberal Democrat Bob Morgan.
