Hull FC notebook as milestone heritage number awarded and academy edged out
Heritage milestone
Hull FC loanee Yusuf Aydin became the 1,200th player to play for the club on Sunday afternoon. On loan from Hull KR, the prop forward featured off the bench and went strong in his first appearance. Ed Chamberlain also debuted for the club, with the centre or back-rower on loan from Leigh Leopards.
The duo are the 11th and 12th players to debut for Hull this year, following on from Morgan Smith, Fa'amanu Brown, Herman Ese'ese, Franklin Pele, Jayden Okunbor, Jack Ashworth, Joe Bullock, Jack Charles, Liam Tindall, and Logan Moy. Matty Russell also played on loan this year after first appearing for the club back in 2012.

Briscoe back in Black and White
Tom Briscoe returned to Hull FC last week and is set for a second debut for the club at Warrington Wolves on Friday night. The winger, now 34, has signed an 18 month contract, making his first appearance for the Black and Whites against the same opposition 16 years ago. He was just 18 years old.
To date, Briscoe has 147 appearances for the club, scoring 90 tries. He is set to add some much needed experience to the side, and more go forward, with the player known for his professionalism, high work rate, and metre making ability.
Ese'ese stands out
You don't need the numbers to know that Herman Ese'ese was the best player on the pitch in Hull's improved performance against Leeds Rhinos on Sunday, the naked eye told that story, but they at least back it up. Playing for over an hour, the big prop made 19 carries for 146 metres, busting six tackles, and making four offloads. He also made 29 tackles, missing just two.
Academy edged out
Hull FC academy were beaten by Leeds Rhinos 30-22 in an entertaining game on Saturday afternoon. The two sides were locked at 12-12 at the break, with Leeds pulling away in the second half.
Tries came for Joe Ward, Jordan Baker, Ben Johnson, and Callum Kemp with Johnson giving another strong account in the halves, while centre Ryan Westerman and loose-forward Will Kirby, who can also play in the back row and was singled out by Tony Smith after a pre-season at Bradford, also impressed. The academy are now two from four this year after beating Hull KR and Huddersfield away from home. They also lost to Warrington on the road and are next in action against at Bradford Bulls on Thursday 9 May.
Women defeated
Hull FC Women were edged out at 18-14 at Illingworth on Sunday. It was the first loss of the season for Jack Coates' side, who have beaten Wakefield Trinity, Widnes Vikings, and Batley so far this year.
Bad day at office for girls
Hull FC's under 14s girls were well-beaten by Batley on Saturday, losing 64-10 in the Yorkshire Cup. The under 126s, meanwhile, were edged out 28-26 by Halton Farnworth Hornets.
