James Corden reveals Tom Cruise asked to land helicopter in his 'yard'
James Corden has told how his pal Tom Cruise texted to ask him if he could land his helicopter in his “yard” as the pair made dinner plans.
The Gavin And Stacey star and the Mission: Impossible actor are good friends and decided to get together for a bite to eat when they discovered they were both in the UK at the same time.
Telling the story on The Late Late Show, Corden said: “This summer, me and Tom Cruise were texting about meeting up in London.

“He sent me a text saying, ‘Whereabouts are you staying?’ And I said, ‘I’m staying in St Johns Wood,’ which is pretty central in London. I said, 'I’m in St John’s Wood’ and he said, ‘Cool, can I land my helicopter there?’ And I just presumed he was joking.”

The presenter also showed his phone to the camera so the text exchange could be seen.
It showed a message from Cruise, which said: “What? You are here? We gotta find some time to grab some dinner. Are you at Coworth? I can land my Heli there."
Corden replied to say he was in the UK until August, in St Johns Wood, adding: “Would love to see you x."
Cruise responded: “We are going to make that happen. Can I land my Heli in your yard? T."
Corden sent back a string of crying with laughter emojis, leading Cruise to ask: "Does this mean no?"
The comedian then confirmed that it wasn’t likely to be possible.
“I'll measure it out, but my hunch is you can't land a helicopter in St Johns Wood," he texted back.
But the actor replied: “You'd be surprised where I can land."
Corden shared his story after Cruise recently surprised a family by landing his helicopter in their Warwickshire garden.
