Jeremy McConnell released from prison after serving just 34 days

Disgraced reality star Jeremy McConnell has been released from prison after serving just 34 days of his 18-week sentence.

Jeremy was imprisoned in November after he breached his community service order, however, he has been let out in time for the New Year – thanking fans for their support upon his release.

Posting on his Instagram story, Jeremy told his followers: “Thanks for all your messages. I’ve read so much lies and it’s incredible. Have a good New Year.”

Jeremy, 29, was given a suspended sentence in August of this year after he was found guilty of physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Stephanie Davis, who he has son Caben-Albi with.

He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months and was ordered to attend a Building Better Relationships course as well as carry out 200 hours of community service.

Jeremy went on to miss eight work appointments, with a judge opting to activate his suspended jail term as a result.

District Judge Wendy Lloyd told the star: “After trial I convicted you of a vicious alcohol-fuelled attack on your partner and the mother of your child.

“She received a number of injuries and you also damaged her property. You showed no regard for your little baby, who was caught up in the violence.

“I was anxious to protect other women from your violence in future, so I gave you a suspended sentence with rehabilitation requirements.

“Your solicitor said it would be unjust to activate that sentence. However I find the reality is that your enthusiasm for cooperation has been short lived and there’s nothing to show in the future things will change.

“You have done some of the work and it seems fair that I give you some discount for that. I sentence you to 18 weeks of imprisonment out of the original 20.”

Just three months into his community order it was revealed that Jeremy had jetted to Istanbul in Turkey to get a hair and beard transplant, with a source telling The Sun at the time: “Jeremy has been reckless and stupid to think that the law wouldn’t catch up with him.

“He skipped dates so he could go out partying with his mates in Turkey and now it’s caught up with him.

“He’s had a hair transplant but the price could be a stint behind bars.”

Jeremy was spotted grinning as he walked out of HMP Cardiff in Wales earlier this morning, with it believed that he has been released with an electronic tag and will be required to adhere to a curfew.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star must also stay away from Stephanie for three years and any communication about their son must be done via social services or the family court.
