Kanye West hints at 2024 Presidency run
Looks like Kanye West’s self-declared break from politics has already come to an end. The 41-year-old American rapper has reinstated his love for President Trump and even hinted that he could run for President himself in a new flurry of tweets.
In the tweets posted on New Year’s Day, West makes multiple claims, including ‘Trump all day’ and ‘They will not program me.’
West kicked off his stream of ‘free thought’ be declaring that his MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat is firmly back on.
“From now on I’m performing with my muther***ing hat on,” he wrote followed by several dragon emojis, signalling the ‘dragon energy’ he claims to share with the President.
And in between retweeting many messages from supportive fans, West hinted several times that he could be running for President in 2024. This included a tweet that simply stated ‘2024’ and that he and Trump ‘will change the world’ together as ‘God is with us.’

We will change the world. God is on my side. I am a Christian. I am a tax payer. I am myself. God is with us.

West, who now goes as just ‘ye’ on Twitter, explained that he is tweeting to let his fans know in 2019 “where I stand” and that “Blacks are 90% Democrats. That sounds like control to me.”
Just so in 2019 you know where I stand

West had declared back in October that he was taking a break from politics. On October 30 he wrote on Twitter: “My eyes are now wide open and now realize [SIC] I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in,” he wrote. “I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!”

Rapper Pusha T, who’s latest album West produced, also said on The Daily Show in December that West was no longer wearing his ‘Make America Great again’ hat.
“He doesn’t [wear it] anymore. He stopped. He stopped, though. Can you imagine having those conversations while he’s trying to make my album? He basically has my life in his palm and I have to tell him that I hate something. We always have real conversations, though,” Pusha T said.
While West has clearly reverted back to politics, his Presidential references should come as no surprise to his fan base, who have long encouraged the idea of President West. Indeed many delighted at his ‘2024’ tweet with one writing ‘President Kanye West and First Lady Kim Kardashian West! RUN THAT S***’ and another ‘Kanye for President!’
His wife and mother of his three children, Kim Kardashian, has also stepped into the politcal arena of late. Kardashian successfully campaigned for the release of drug offender Alice Johnson, and is reportedly campaigning for the release of other US prisoners.
