Kardashians increase security after multi-million pound jewellery robberies

The Kardashians have taken extreme measures to beef up their security after Kendall Jenner became the latest victim of jewellery theft last week, just months after her sister Kim Kardashian’s gunpoint robbery ordeal in Paris.

Kris Jenner, the famous family matriarch, admitted that recent events had been an eye-opening experience, causing her to assess her family’s security to ensure they’re “protected to a crazy level” in the wake of these terrifying incidents.

The 61-year-old momager – mother to Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Rob, Kendall and Kylie – said: “It’s an eye-opener how many people have tried to access our homes. [Now] we’re protected to a crazy level.”

An insider told Us Weekly magazine that guests have to be “patted down by security” before entering Kim and her husband Kanye West’s $11 million mansion – and again upon exiting the property.

The source revealed: “Kim’s staff had to take polygraphs to see if anyone was involved in her robbery. Everyone passed… [Before going into Kim’s house], you get patted down by security. It’s intense.”

Taking extra safety precautions, the Kardashians also called for a complete overhaul of their entire security team and have started using decoy vehicles to protect themselves from potential aggressors.

This comes after police reportedly revealed that the theft of $200k (£162k) worth of Kendall’s jewellery might have been an “inside job”, potentially stolen by someone who attended a party at her Hollywood Hills home.

The 21-year-old reality star dialled 911 at around 1am on Thursday morning when she first noticed the jewels were missing from her bedroom, but police found no evidence of forced entry at the residence.

According to TMZ, law enforcement officials now believe that someone who attended a party at the house on Wednesday night committed the robbery.

Kendall’s sister Kim would surely have been distressed to hear the news as she continues to move on from her own traumatic ordeal, in which she was bound, gagged and held at gunpoint by robbers in Paris last year.

In a new episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim recalled her fear while recounting the details of her terrifying experience, admitting she was too scared to attempt to flee the scene in case the attackers shot her in the back.

She said: “I had a split second in my mind to make this quick decision. Am I gonna run down the stairs… Either they’re gonna shoot me in the back, or if I make it and they don’t, if the elevator does not open in time, or the stairs are locked, then like, I’m f***ed. There’s no way out.”

Right after the clip aired on TV, Kim took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the experience, writing: “I took a tragic horrific experience and did not let it diminish me, rather grew and evolved and allowed the experience to teach me.

“I can say I’ve become so much better because of it… thank you for allowing me to share my story tonight #KUWTK”
