Kate Garraway 'exhausted' and 'fretful as Derek is 'in and out of hospital'
Kate Garraway has confessed she is feeling the strain as husband Derek Draper has undergone a series of hospital visits.
The Good Morning Britain presenter — who cares for her husband at home as a result of his long battle with coronavirus — revealed 54-year-old Derek had been going through a difficult period in his recovery.
Garraway, 55, told her 1.1m Instagram followers: "So Derek has been in and out of hospital a lot recently -hopefully the wonderful health teams will help him improve but I woke up early feeling exhausted and very fretful."

The TV presenter — mother to 12-year-old son Billy and 15-year-old daughter Darcey — revealed she had found solace in her garden.
She went on: "As you know my garden is my happy place so came out for some calm and to get stuck in to some weeding and planting. It’s been ages since have been able to and I really missed it but nature hasn’t me.
"The flowers are blooming, fruits growing, leaves dancing in the breeze. Am sure there’s a message in there somewhere for how life finds a way, and I certainly feel better for being in amongst it."
Earlier this year the TV presenter featured in ITV's Love Your Garden: Grow Your Own Special, revealing how she had turned her back garden into a wellness space for her family.
Garraway also explained how she had been growing medicinal plants to help Derek.
After visiting Kew Gardens to learn about the medicinal benefits of plants, the TV presenter was inspired to grow three separate beds of herbal teas, aromatherapy plants, and those strong in antioxidants.
Draper, 54, was shown smiling as Garraway wheeled him out to see the results of her gardening.
The TV presenter recently shared an update on her husband’s health in ITV documentary Caring For Derek.
Revealing the day-to-day reality of being a carer, she showed her home piled with mountains of laundry from seven bed changes a day.
Draper is bed-bound after contracting coronavirus in March 2020 and has been left with significant brain injuries.
Garraway also revealed Draper last year travelled to Mexico to take part in a new medical trial.
He returned to the family home in April 2021 and requires round-the-clock care.
