The Prince and Princess of Wales are gearing up for a joyous occasion tomorrow as their youngest, Prince Louis, celebrates his sixth birthday. The royal youngster is sure to be showered with love from his family, including doting parents and siblings, as he marks this special milestone.

Kate Middleton has previously shared a sweet tradition she honours each year on the eve of her children's birthdays.

During a 2019 appearance alongside Prince William on the BBC's 'A Berry Royal Christmas' with culinary queen Mary Berry, the princess divulged her passion for baking. She confessed that she often stays up until midnight before her kids' birthdays, saying: "I love making the cake."

She elaborated on her festive labour of love, admitting: "It's become a bit of a tradition that I stay up 'til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much. But I love it."

Prince Louis, who is fourth in line to the throne, was born on the patriotic day of St George's Day, April 23, back in 2018. He made his entrance into the world at the exclusive Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, tipping the scales at a healthy 8lb 7oz, reports the Mirror.

His christening, officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, took place when he was just 11 weeks old at the Chapel Royal in St James's Palace, surrounded by close friends and relatives.

William and Kate's youngest son has returned to his private school in Berkshire alongside his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, following their Easter break.

The duchess's health update was shared just before the school holidays, with Kate revealing she had been diagnosed with cancer. Her voice cracked with emotion as she spoke about the "huge shock" and "incredibly tough couple of months" the family have faced.

The video was released to coincide with the school break, allowing the family to shield their children from the news coverage. Kate, sitting on a bench in casual clothing, said: "It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK."

Kate added that she is focusing on her mental, physical and spiritual health to heal, telling her children: "As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits."

While Kate continues her treatment, Prince William has returned to royal duties and was spotted helping out at a food charity in Surrey last week. During a recent engagement, Volunteer Rachel Candappa, 71, presented Prince William with two 'get well soon' cards for the King and Kate.

The prince, clearly touched, responded: "Thank you, you are very kind". When Rachel urged the future king to take care of Kate, he reassuringly placed his hand on her shoulder and vowed, "I will".

Reflecting on the moment, Rachel from Sunbury-on-Thames shared: "I said take care of her and he said 'I will'."

Surplus to Supper, established in 2017, plays a crucial role in tackling food waste by collecting and distributing around 10 tons of food weekly to various organisations including food banks, schools, care homes, religious groups, and youth centres.

During his visit to the charity, Prince William contributed a range of kitchen staples from Adelaide Cottage, including pasta, potatoes, and tinned soup.
