Katie Price was spotted smoking hours after giving up on completing the London Marathon for the British Lung Foundation.

The former glamour model, 39, took on the gruelling 26.2 mile route dressed as a pair of lungs in a bid to raise money for the organisation on behalf of her mother who is living with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).

But she pulled out at 15km – before reaching the half-way point – after suffering a knee injury.

Forty-eight hours after quitting she was seen smoking and jumping around outside a pub in Wiltshire.

Price smashed her £2,000 fundraising target despite not finishing the race and was praised by the British Lung Foundation for her “efforts”.

Jason Cater, the charity’s director of fundraising, told The Sun: “It’s thanks to the fantastic fundraising efforts and awareness raising of people like Katie and all of our Team Breathe members that we’re able to continue or vital work researching new treatments, raising awareness of lung health and supporting people living with lung disease across the UK.”

Fans had previously refused to donate as they feared Price would pull out of the race after she recently cancelled a string of tour dates due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

She hit back at critics, who scolded her for failing to finish in a post-run video with her mother.

She said: “I did train for the run, tried my best in a heavy outfit and if my mummy is proud that's what matters to me.”

Price’s mother Amy was diagnosed with IPF last year. The condition causes scarring of the lungs which leaves sufferers struggling to breathe.

Price recently revealed a common cold could prove fatal.
