League One and League Two retained lists: The free agents Bristol Rovers can target this summer

The deadline for EFL clubs to submit their retained lists following the 2023/24 season is fast approaching with it expected to be this Saturday (May 18). Bristol Rovers and a number of their fellow League One outfits were punctual with revealing who would be leaving the club which will no doubt be of interest to other sides.

Naturally with the scale of the recruitment job that the Gas face this summer, it wouldn't be a surprise to see some of these names pose with a Rovers shirt outside The Quarters over the coming months. The Gas will need to dip into the free agent market in order to afford what could well prove to be an overhaul of 10 players or more.

It won't just be Rovers though with all clubs outside of the Championship likely to use the free agent pool as their marketplace and it wouldn't be a surprise to see at least a one of the seven players released by the Gas rock up at the Mem as an opposition player next season.

With the play-offs yet to be concluded in any division within the EFL, there are still a handful of clubs within the third and fourth tiers that are still yet to submit their retained lists but, for now, here are all of the players released so far.
