London travel news LIVE: Passengers stuck on trains for 'at least two hours' after signal fault at Euston
Train passengers on the West Coast Main Line faced severe disruption because of a signalling fault at London’s Euston station.
Stranded travellers complained about being stuck on stationary trains for at least two hours on Tuesday afternoon.
Network Rail apologised for the incident and said its engineers are “working to fix the problem as soon as possible”.
One affected passenger, Paul Carroll, posted on X that he has been “stuck on a train for two hours not moving,” and another passenger reported being “stuck on a train at Stockport for two hours”.
National Rail has warned that major disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Meanwhile, there is no service on the London Overground from Kilburn High Road to Euston as well as between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside.
There is also a part closure of the Northern Line until April 11 between Golders Green and Edgware due to planned engineering works.
Earlier on Tuesday motorists faced 45-minute delays after a lorry lost its load of concrete slabs.

Major disruption at Euston Station will affect rail services until at least 2pm, National Rail has said.
This is because of a fault with the signalling system, meaning trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to an hour.
Avanti West Coast mainline services are affected, as are London Northwestern Railway services.

Talks held in bid to ward off next week's Tube strike

Talks are to be held on Wednesday in a bid to avert a Tube strike that could bring much of the London Underground to a standstill next Monday.
Tube drivers belonging to Aslef have called the walkout – and a second on Saturday May 4, the day the next mayor of London is due to be declared – in a long-running dispute over feared changes to working conditions.
Union leaders are due to meet Transport for London negotiators for talks in what could provide a breakthrough.
