Loose Women is about to get a major change to its format - by adding men to the panel.

Craig Revel Horwood and Peter Andre will join ITV’s lunchtime show on Friday in a special episode called Loose Women & Men. If all goes well, bosses are hoping to include male panelists at least once a month to boost ratings.

Show editor Sally Shelford told The Mirror: “We want to give our loyal viewers the chance to see their favourite outspoken male celebs providing a man’s eye view on the trending topics of the day.

“Many of the male guests who come on the show believe they can give our panelists a run for their money - now we are giving them the chance to put their money where their mouth is and see whether they can hack it in the Loose Women hot seat.”

Peter’s appearance comes just a few weeks after his ex-wife Katie Price joined the show as a full-time panelist.

But the pair aren’t expected to appear on the show together. (Imagine the fireworks!)

Producers are lining up a whole host of names to appear on the show in future if Peter and Strictly judge Craig prove successful.

Celebrities including Sir Ian McKellan, Paddy McGuinness and Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan have been rumoured to become honorary Loose Women.

“We already have lots of high profile celeb men wanting to take their turn on the panel,” a source said.

“There are a few outrageous topics for them to discuss this Friday and we can’t wait to hear Craig and Peter’s perspective on some controversial battle-of-the-sexes debates.”
