What did you miss?

Lorraine Kelly has said sorry to ITV viewers after she made a mix-up while interviewing Sophie Ellis-Bextor about Saltburn.

Accidentally, the talkshow host claimed those watching at home could find writer-director Emerald Fennell's psychological thriller — starring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike and Carey Mulligan — on Netflix when speaking to the 'Murder on the Dancefloor' hitmaker about her song in the new film.

However, it wasn't until the end of the interview that Kelly highlighted the error she had made.

What, how and why?

Kelly had no qualms apologising for her error on TV as she addressed the error once she had finished speaking to Ellis-Bextor. The presenter openly told fans: "I do apologise. I said it was on Netflix. It's on Amazon Prime."

Saltburn charts the twisted relationship between Oxford students Oliver Quick (Keoghan) and Felix Catton (Elordi) in the mid-2000s, as the former is invited to spend the summer at the latter's family estate. It's been compared favourably to both Brideshead Revisited and The Talented Mr. Ripley.

What else happened on Lorraine?

Discussing her tune's reinvigoration amongst the public thanks to its inclusion on the Saltburn soundtrack, Ellis-Bextor shared: "It's all been a lot to process actually, because it's all been happening but I've sort of been at home with the family for Christmas and New Year."

The popstar then recalled being invited to perform at the US premiere party with her husband Richard Jones, who plays bass guitar for The Feeling.

"I did the red carpet and people were saying, 'Ah how did you come up with the idea for the song for the movie?' And I was like, no you don't understand... this is a really old song of mine having a new adventure. So, you know, it's a lovely thing to be a part of and I think the film is witty and dark, and I absolutely loved it."

First released in 2001, Murder on the Dancefloor is enjoying a surge in popularity thanks to Saltburn.

The music video to Sophie Ellis-Bextor's hit saw a 541% surge in views in the UK, global music video network Vevo has reported: nearly 6.5x its average daily views.

This spike builds on an already successful renaissance year for Sophie, who also saw viewership lifts after being used for a series of viral TikToks. The track is also set to chart on the Official UK Singles Chart today - Friday, 5 January, 2024.

Saltburn is streaming on Prime Video.
