An important major road will undergo further works over the weekend, inevitably causing significant delays.

Closures have continued over the last few months on the M4, leaving many motorists stuck in traffic jams for more than 30 minutes.

National Highways has released an updated list of closures which will effect drivers using the main road over the weekend.

All of the delays are scheduled during night time hours.

The road closures to expect over this weekend are as follows:

 

M4-Westbound

M4 westbound Jct 11 to Jct 12. Carriageway closure for structures work.

This closure will commence from 9 pm until 6 pm and will last from June 28 until July 7.

 

M4-Eastbound

M4 Eastbound Jct 3 Slip road closure for lighting column inspections. Diversion via National Highways roads.

This closure will commence from 10 pm until 5.30 am and will last from June 29 to June 30.

 

M4-Eastbound

M4 Southbound Jct 4 Slip and lane closures for lamp column inspections. Diversion via National Highways roads.

This closure will commence from 10 pm until 5.30 am and will last from June 29 to June 30.

Road users are advised to keep a close eye on National Highways for any significant changes to the closures, and should allow extra time for their journeys.
