A MAN has been arrested after being found with ‘a significant quantity’ of class A drugs and cash.

Members of the Bournemouth south neighbourhood policing team arrested the man on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply.

The officers seized a large amount of drugs and cash from the suspect.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “The Bournemouth South Neighbourhood Policing Team is committed to making Bournemouth and Dorset safer places.

“We have a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal drugs and will continue to take strong action against those who threaten the safety of our community.”

In March, the county force launched the latest phase of its operation to tackle drugs with neighbouring forces in Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

This focuses on visible street dealing, aiming to disrupt those who drug deal and commit associated crimes in the community.
