Man charged after ‘£50K worth of cannabis’ found in BMW on M6

A man has been charged after police allegedly found £50,000 worth of cannabis after stopping a car on the M6.

Police stopped a BMW 3 series on the M6 near Chorley, which was travelling south on Monday (July 1).

After searching the vehicle, police allegedly found around 12kg of cannabis thought to be worth around £50,000.

Albion Lushaj, 31, of Cherry Tree Lane, Rainham, Greater London has been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis.

He was set to appear in court today (July 3).

A police spokesperson said: “Earlier this week we told you about an arrest we had made following a proactive vehicle stop on the M6 near Chorley.

“Officers from our Road Crime Unit signalled for a BMW 3 series to stop as it was travelling south on the motorway on Monday (July 1).

“A search of the vehicle found around 12kg of Cannabis thought to be worth around £50,000.

“Just to update you, following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Albion Lushaj, 31, of Cherry Tree Lane, Rainham, Greater London has been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis.

“He will appear at Preston Magistrates Court this morning.”
