Man in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being knocked off his bike.

Police were called to report of a crash on Bridge Meadow near to the junction with Broadland Road in Ellesmere Port at around 6.50pm on Friday, April 19. The crash involved a silver Ford B-Max and a pedal cycle.

The cyclist, a 60-year-old man, suffered serious injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital. He remains in hospital at this time, police said.

Officers investigating what happened are now hoping to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and are appealing for CCTV and dashcam footage.

Sergeant Darren Owen said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to get in touch with us. The same goes for anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of what happened.
