Man rushed to Glasgow hospital after 'attack' near Maryhill Tesco

A man has been rushed to hospital after a reported attack near the Tesco Extra in the Maryhill area of Glasgow yesterday (May 17).

Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of an individual being injured on Shakespeare Street at around 6.45pm.

A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident, which is believed to be an assault. Police Scotland have confirmed an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The seriousness of the injuries suffered are not known.

A spokesperson said: “Around 6.45pm on Friday, 17 May, 2024, police attended a report of a man having been injured in Shakespeare Street, Maryhill, Glasgow.

“Officers attended and a 36-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.”
