Man suffers 'knife wound' in early-morning 'assault' on main road

A man reportedly flagged down a car on a busy Swindon road after suffering a knife wound.

Police are investigating an alleged assault on Queens Drive during the morning of Thursday, May 9.

Officers say a man flagged down a car on the busy route, at around 7.55am, claiming he had a knife wound to the hand.

The man urged the driver to call an ambulance before walking away down the path towards Buckingham Road and Sandringham Road in Lawn.

Police have launched a probe into the incident and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following reports of an assault in Queens Drive, Swindon, this morning (May 9).
