A man is now the lucky owner of a £3.5 million house after buying a £25 ticket

Kevin Bryant, from Plymouth, won the keys to a home in the heart of Cheshire’s Golden Triangle - which hosts Premier League footballers - as well as £100,000 in cash after entering an Omaze draw.

The 53-year-old can now call a stunning five-bedroom home in Prestbury, said to be a “footballer’s paradise”, his own. As a Manchester City FC fan, Kevin was even more ecstatic when he found out many stars from his team live in nearby luxury homes.

The former Royal Navy weapons engineer said: “I’d been manifesting this win for ages, telling anyone who would listen that the house was already mine. But when I came home from work to see the Omaze team outside my house - I still couldn’t believe my eyes.

“Once everyone had gone I cracked open the good whisky to celebrate - I thought if you can’t drink a good whisky after winning a £3.5million house, when can you? It was the longest bank holiday ever - I didn’t really sleep - I just couldn’t wait to come and see what I’d won."

The property comes mortgage-free and with all legal fees and stamp duty covered. Kevin also netted £100,000 in cash to help him settle in. He can decide to either live in the house, rent it out for a supplementary income or sell it.

If Kevin, who works for a company that provides IT support for local authorities and the NHS, decides to rent it out, local estate agents estimate the property could achieve a long-term rental value of £20,000 per month.

Kevin bought his £3.5 million winning entry for just £25 as part of his monthly Omaze subscription. He currently lives with his wife of 32 years in a three-bedroom Georgian terrace house in Plymouth and has done so since 2005.

When Kevin found out he’d won the grand prize, he cracked open an 18-year-old bottle of whisky he’d been saving for a “special occasion”.

He added: “The house is absolutely gorgeous - just stunning. With a kitchen as nice as this I better learn how to cook. We’ve got a large extended family and lots of wonderful friends - we can’t wait to host everyone here.

“My mum was born in Greater Manchester, so this is a bit of a homecoming really. She already has her eye on the room with the walk-in wardrobe. She’s still working at 77 years old, but now I'm hoping she’ll finally consider retirement."

Kevin said he loves the area, where he often goes to watch his beloved Man City. But is now hoping he will bump into some famous faces while out shopping.

He added: "I can't believe I now own a house in footballers’ paradise where a lot of the squad live, maybe I’ll bump into Jack Grealish or Pep Guardiola when I pop out to get a pint of milk."

And even though Kevin said the win "changes everything" for his family, he and his wife are staying humble.

He said: "Even though we’ve won this amazing house, plus £100k in cash, my wife is insisting that she wants to keep her 11-year-old Skoda Roomster, we’ll definitely stand out at the local supermarket parked next to all the Lamborghinis.

“But this win changes everything for us - it gives us so many options - I might consider early retirement. Work can be very stressful for both of us - my wife has worked for the NHS for 30 years and that can take its toll. So we were both already thinking about making changes to our lives, and this win enables us to do just that now."
