The 2024/25 Premier League fixture list has been released and plenty of Manchester United fans will already have some dates marked in their calendars.

United will be desperate for a strong start to the campaign having recorded an awful eighth-place finish last term. An FA Cup final victory over Manchester City still wasn't enough to suggest last season was anywhere near a success, but it did at least ensure European qualification for next season.

Erik ten Hag will lead the team into next season, and although he has been kept on as United manager this summer it's imperative he starts strongly after INEOS admitted to him they had interviewed other managers about the possibility of replacing him at Old Trafford.

Getting off to a good start will be key but everyone wants to know when those blockbuster games against City and Liverpool are. Here are the four dates you need to keep free for next season...

When do Manchester United play Man City?

The first Manchester derby of the season will take place at the Etihad Stadium on 14 December.

United will then host their rivals on 5 April, with fans hoping they'll still have plenty to play for with just seven games of the season to go by the time the second league derby of the season is over.

When do Manchester United play Liverpool?

Just as they did in Ten Hag's first season in charge, United will welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford for the third Premier League game of the season. The clash is scheduled to take place on 31 August.

United secured a 0-0 draw the last time they visited Anfield and they'll hope for another solid defensive display when they travel to Liverpool in the Premier League on 4 January.
