Manchester terror attack victims to 'join Ariana Grande on stage' at benefit concert

It has been reported that young people who survived the terrorist attack at Ariana Grande’s Manchester concert last week will join her on stage during this Sunday’s benefit concert.

Ariana has organised a huge show, One Love Manchester, in aid of the victims of the attack, and a group of children who were at her show that was targeted by suicide bomber Salman Abedi last week will come on stage to sing with her during her set.

According to reports, 24 pupils from Parr Wood High School’s Harmony Choir have been selected, with 24-year-old teacher Daniel McDwyer telling The Times: “So so proud! Love you Manchester. Going to be such a beautiful tribute.”

One of the choir’s members, 17-year-old Shaunna Burns, was at the original concert with three of her friends but thankfully escaped unscathed.

Speaking to the paper, she added: “It’s so surreal. You do not think one second you are going to see a performer and then the next be on stage with her.”

Shaunna continued to ITV News: “We’ve had a different look on everything now because we fortunately did get out safe and unharmed and we want to do as much as we can for people that didn’t.

“It’s given more motivation just to help.”

The news comes after it was reported that tickets to benefit concert sold out in just six minutes, with concertgoers keen to show their support with all profits from the gig going towards the Red Cross Manchester Emergency Fund.

Those who were at Ariana Grande’s gig at Manchester Arena on May 22 have been given free tickets to Sunday’s show, which will also have performances from the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Take That.

It is also believed that Ariana will spend time with some of the victims from Monday’s attack, with the star being left “traumatised” when the suicide bomber detonated a homemade nail bomb at the arena after she finished her sold-out concert.

Countless people were left with serious injuries following the attack and 22 lives were lost.
