Met Office says how hot it will get in every part of Lancashire as heatwave set to hit UK

The UK is set to see temperatures rise into the 30Cs in some parts of the country, according to the latest Met Office forecasts.

Most areas will see the hottest temperatures of 2024 so far this week with a heat health warning in place from Monday (June 24) until Thursday afternoon (June 27). It come as the movement of the jet stream to the north of the UK allows air to move up from the continent.

Met Office forecaster Aidan McGivern said there is "an increasingly hot week of weather to come". Even if the UK does not meet the heatwave threshold - defined as at least three days where the temperature exceeds 25C in the north west - it is expected to be a very warm few days ahead.

In Lancashire and the rest of the region, mercury levels were set to rise to highs of 25C and it will remain in the high teens overnight, making it an uncomfortable sleep for many. Temperatures are set to dip to 22C on Tuesday before rising to 25C again on Thursday.
